In short

A case in Bharat.Law is the home for one client matter. Its tabs hold the case conversation, details, linked court matters, documents, research, tasks, bookmarks and team. You can invite other lawyers and clients to collaborate, and in a team workspace you decide whether everyone or only assigned people can see it.

Create a case

  1. Start a new case

Select Cases in the left rail, then + New.

  2. Describe it

Add a title, a short description and the category: Legal Case, Document Review or Other.

  3. Pick the workspace

Choose the workspace that will control the case. Cases you create are assigned to you.

  4. Add detail later

Edit the case to add a case type, such as Civil, Criminal, Corporate, Family, Property, Constitutional, Tax, Labour, IP or Environmental, and a subtype such as Litigation, Arbitration or Document Review.

Invite lawyers and clients

  1. Open Team

Only the case owner can invite or remove collaborators.

  2. Send an invitation

Enter the email address, choose Lawyer or Client, and select Send Invitation.

  3. Track it

Invitations show as pending, accepted, declined or expired, and can be resent.

Invitees accept from the emailed link, creating an account if they need one. Their pending invitations also appear under Invitations in their account menu.

Who in your workspace can see a case

In a team workspace, the Team tab shows Who can see this case? Choose Share with everyone so every workspace member can open it, or Limit to assigned people so only the people on the case and managers can. If your workspace shares all cases, every member can see every case.

Find your cases

  • Your cases: matters you created or are assigned to.
  • Shared in workspace: cases your team has opened to the workspace.
  • Shared with you: cases you were invited to, including from outside your workspace.
  • Queries: quick questions saved as lightweight cases.
