In short

Workspace Documents is a shared library for every workspace member, with folders for files and a list of NyaI™ drafts. In Drafts, describe the document you need, such as a legal notice, writ petition or bail application, and get a draft that lists its authorities and exports to Word. Available on the Teams and Enterprise plans.

Workspace documents are visible to all workspace members. For files that only some people should see, create a case and upload them there.

Create a draft

  1. Open Drafts

Select Drafts in the left rail, or draft from inside a case.

  2. Describe the document

Explain the document, the parties and what it should achieve, or start from Notice, Reply or Application.

  3. Add context

Attach processed documents from the workspace or case as reference.

  4. Choose a mode

Fast uses the context you've given and leaves placeholders for missing details. Interactive may ask substantive questions first.

  5. Add filing details

For district or trial court documents, add the state or union territory, court type, district, electronic or physical filing, court caption and filing language.

Courts and filing languages

  • Court types: district civil court, sessions or special court, magistrate court, family court, commercial court and other trial-level courts, in all 36 states and union territories.
  • Filing language: automatic, following the court's rule, or any of 22 languages: English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Bhoti, Bodo, Dogri, Gujarati, Kannada, Kashmiri, Kokborok, Konkani, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Mizo, Nepali, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu.
  • Without the state and court caption, the draft is marked as a working draft that needs local verification.

Review, edit and export

  • Each draft lists the authorities used, with a verification trail showing which are verified, partly verified or unavailable.
  • It also shows the facts used, your answers and anything still needed.
  • Copy the draft in a Word-friendly format, or export it as a Word document laid out for the court's filing profile where one applies.
  • Edit drafts in the NyaI™ editor with headings, lists, links, activity history and saved snapshots. Editing is available on Pro, Teams and Enterprise plans.
  • Insert research answers into a draft with Insert into draft.
